Twenty Year Celebration:
1988 - 2008

To mark the twentieth anniversary of gold production in Waihi's modern mining operation, we'll be holding a celebration on Friday 5 December at Morgan Park, starting at 6 pm.

The free, outdoor event will feature entertainment and attractions for both children and families to enjoy. As the event will be held in the evening, you are free to bring along a picnic tea or you can purchase hot food and drinks at Morgan Park.

There will be two New Zealand films screening on a big outdoor screen; the Oscar-nominated short film Two Cars, One Night (rated G) and Footrot Flats (rated PG), the iconic 1986 film directed by Murray Ball.

The film screenings are due to start at about 9 pm and 9.15 pm respectively, dependent on what time the sun sets. Other entertainment includes bouncy castles, mini jeeps and street entertainers. It's a great opportunity to spend time with the family in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

This is our opportunity to thank the community and to celebrate this milestone with you. We hope to see you there.
