above: The mid winter swim in the polishing ponds attracted five hardy souls this year, all vying for the coveted Great Walrus trophy made from steel balls used to grind the ore in the mill. There could only be one winner. This year it was Jake Croall who narrowly beat the wiley walrus Jeff Ruddock in a water temperature described as f-f-f-freezing.
